Team drawn with Jammu & Kashmir, Punjab and Nagaland in Tier 2; first match against J&K on September 18
Shillong, September 11: The Meghalaya Football Association (MFA) on Thursday announced its 20-member squad for the Dr Talimeren Ao National Football Championship for Junior Girls (Tier 2) 2026-27.
The team was given a warm send-off at the MFA Ground here, in the presence of senior MFA officials led by Vice-President Cliff Nongrum.
Meghalaya will be coached by Haphi Kharkongor and will play all its Tier 2 matches in Narainpur, Chhattisgarh, the designated host venue for the competition.
Meghalaya have been placed in Group C alongside Jammu & Kashmir, Punjab and Nagaland. The team will begin its campaign against Jammu & Kashmir on September 18.
The Tier 2 competition features 18 teams divided into two groups of five and two groups of four. The winners of each group will advance to the semifinals, with the two finalists earning promotion to Tier 1 for the following season.
