Mankote, Poonch, September 27, 2026: Member of Parliament from the Anantnag–Rajouri Parliamentary Constituency, Mian Altaf Ahmad Larvi, laid the foundation stone for a mosque at Chhajla Baba Peer Haider Shah Ziyarat in Tehsil Mankote, Poonch district, in the presence of local residents, religious leaders, senior citizens, youth and prominent community members.

The ceremony was marked by special prayers and Dua for peace, prosperity, good health and the well-being of the people of Chhajla, Mankote and the entire Poonch district. Prayers were also offered for unity, brotherhood, communal harmony and the continued development of the region.

During the gathering, participants discussed various social issues affecting the community, particularly the growing concern over drug abuse among young people. Speakers stressed the need for collective efforts by parents, religious leaders, teachers, senior citizens and community representatives to prevent drug addiction.

Parents were urged to maintain regular communication with their children and provide proper guidance and support. Young people were encouraged to stay away from drugs and focus on education, sports, skill development, employment and other constructive activities.

The gathering also highlighted the importance of faith, unity and social harmony. Participants expressed hope that the proposed mosque would serve not only as a place of worship but also as a centre for community interaction and stronger social bonds.

The organisers expressed gratitude to Mian Altaf Ahmad Larvi, donors, local residents, religious personalities, youth and all those who contributed to the mosque construction initiative and the development of the Ziyarat.
