Shillong, Apr. 16: The Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has announced the Kayakalp Award for NEIGRIHMS, Shillong after the institute topped other Group-B hospitals and institutions for the year 2017-18.

Kayakalp award to public health facilities was launched on May 15, 2015 to promote cleanliness, hygiene and creating sustainable practices.

NEIGRIHMS Shillong Public Relations Officer, Kawal Krishen Pandita on Monday informed that an award money of Rs 1.5 crore has been sanctioned to NEIGRIHMS.

The PRO said that NEIGRIHMS Shillong left behind hospitals and institutions like AIIMS Bhuneshwar, NIMHANS Bangalore, AIIMS Rishikesh that stood 2nd, 3rd and 4th positions respectively.

NEIGRIHMS director D.M Thappa congratulated the Medical Superintendent and his team of doctors and officials who worked hard throughout the year to get the first position.
