Shillong, Apr 17: The house of journalist and Editor of The Shillong Times, Patricia Mukhim was attacked with petrol bomb here on Tuesday evening.

The incident happened at around 8.35 pm

Mukhim expressed shock at the incident and said that those who did this ugly deed need to be arrested.

In her facebook account, Mukhim said that she heard the explosion and the flames rising.

“It’s terrible feeling,” she wrote.

Police said that investigation is on and all efforts are being put in to identify people involved in the crime.

The Shillong Press Club has condemned the incident and urged upon the authorities to track and nab people responsible for this act.

“Exemplary punishment must be meted out to them at the earliest,” the statement said, adding, “peace has been our hallmark and we will not cow down before forces of evil or any attempt to dissuade us from discharging our professional duties.”
