Shillong, Apr 20: Four alleged drugs peddlers were apprehended by members of the Khasi Students’ Union (KSU) while they were trying to sell drugs at Nongmensong area here on Friday.

They have been identified as Shankar Chettri, Albert Diengdoh, Anwar Kurbah and Wadjingshai Jarain, KSU-SMC president Sonstar Nongkhlaw said.

He said from their possession, 0.9 gram heroin was seized. The alleged peddlers along with the seized item were later handed over to the anti-narcotics task force (ATF) of the state police for taking necessary action as per law.

The KSU has warned drug peddlers and said that the Union would continue to work to ensure that drugs menace is rooted out of the society.
