Shillong, June 06: Manjit Singh Rai, member of the National Commission for Minorities (NCM) on wednesday met Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma and senior government officials to assess the ground situation in Shillong city

“The State Government has handled the law and order situation very well,” Rai while speaking to the media person  after meeting the Chief Minister.

Regarding the  relocating the sweepers’ lane to a new location, he said that we should first consider that sikhs staying there for almost above  100 years

He also said that “It is not feasible to relocate someone from the present location to another place.”

He also held a meeting with the Chief Secretary, DGP and senior government officials to review the situation.

“I hope that the situation will be normal within few days. I will be submitting the report before the commission on the current situation in Shillong by tomorrow,” National Minority Commission member said.
