Shillong, June 15: The RBI will organize a Banking Ombudsman awareness programe at Nongstoiñ on Saturday, though it is a holiday on account of Id-ul-Fitre.
According to a scheduled programme, the RBI Banking Ombudsman is organising an awareness camp at Nongstoiñ Centre on Saturday.
As per the directive of RBI, the branch managers have been requested to invite maximum 25 customers to attend the awareness camp and take measures to bring them to the venue of the camp.
Id-ul-Fitre is an important religious holiday celebrated by Muslims worldwide that marks the end of Ramadan, the Islamic holy month of fasting. The holiday celebrates the conclusion of the 29 or 30 days of dawn-to-sunset fasting during the entire month of Ramadan.
Meanwhile, Meghalaya Governor, Ganga Prasad and Meghalaya Chief Minister, Conrad K. Sangma have also conveyed their greetings to the people on the occasion.
The Governor while conveying his greetings said, “I hope that this occasion which marks the end of Ramadan, will spread the message of love, compassion, brotherhood, and strengthens the harmony and creates a positive environment in society.â€
Conveying his greetings to the people of Meghalaya especially the Muslim community, the Chief Minister said, “Let the celebration remind us of a sense of responsibility to bring people together in harmony through the universal relationship of peace, love, hope and brotherhood and usher in greater prosperity and happiness.â€
