Shillong, Oct 4: Two youths who were allegedly kidnapped by unidentified persons from Shillong on Tuesday were rescued by Assam police on Wednesday.
The two boys, both 16-years-old were rescued by Assam police from Jhalukbari, SP (City) Vivek Syiem said.
Family members of the boys had lodged a complaint with Laitumkhrah police station after they went missing on Tuesday afternoon.
Acting on the complaint, Syiem said that police from Shillong contacted their counterpart in Guwahati, who immediately swung into action and rescued the two students.
The SP informed that a police team had left for Assam to bring back the boys to Shillong.
Police will further investigate into the matter to ascertain whether the two boys were really abducted.
