Shillong, October 7, 2025: The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), Meghalaya chapter, held a press briefing today at the Shillong Press Club to announce its upcoming youth event in Khliehriat, East Jaintia Hills, scheduled for October 9, 2025.

The briefing was addressed by President Sashankutlang Khongthohrem and Secretary Tengku M. Marak, who emphasized that the event aims to engage, empower, and inspire the youth of Meghalaya.

Secretary Tengku M. Marak encouraged students and young people across the state to participate and learn more about ABVP’s ongoing initiatives, especially in the fields of education, skill development, and leadership training. He stated that ABVP strives to equip students with opportunities for community service, public engagement, and nation-building.

President Sashankutlang Khongthohrem highlighted that the youth conference would serve as an important platform for young people to exchange ideas, discuss issues affecting them, and contribute meaningfully to society. He further added that ABVP’s goal is to nurture leadership qualities and promote a sense of responsibility among the youth.

The leaders also appealed to the media and local organisers to help promote the event widely to ensure greater awareness and participation from students across the region.

The briefing concluded with an overview of ABVP’s ongoing projects and campaigns in Meghalaya, which focus on educational outreach, cultural awareness, and youth-driven social initiatives. The upcoming Khliehriat event, they said, will be another step in motivating the youth to take active roles in community service and state development.
