Pynursla, July 5, 2025: Asorphi Academy Higher Secondary School, Pynursla, celebrated the Academic Recognition and Valediction Ceremony for the Batch of 2023–25 on Saturday with grandeur and heartfelt emotion. The event was marked by inspirational speeches, academic accolades, and warm farewells, reflecting the institution’s rising prominence in the region.

Shri L. Kharmon, Block Development Officer, C&RD Block Pynursla, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, representing Deputy Chief Minister Shri Prestone Tynsong, who was unable to attend due to disruptions caused by a landslide following heavy rainfall.

Also present as Guest of Honour was Shri H. Khongstid, Chairman, C&RD Block Pynursla. The ceremony was further dignified by the presence of distinguished invitees, including Shri M. Dkhar, Assistant General Manager & District Development Manager, NABARD (Ri-Bhoi and East Khasi Hills); Dr. Sashankutlang Khongthohrem, Principal of Riwar College; and U P. Khongsni, Chairman of Asorphi.

The ceremony drew a large audience comprising headmasters and headmistresses from various schools across the Pynursla Civil Sub-Division, as well as parents, teachers, and students, all gathered to celebrate the academic journey of the outgoing batch.

In his keynote address, the Chief Guest, Shri Kharmon, commended the rapid progress of Asorphi Academy since its inception in 2018. He particularly lauded the school’s 100% pass rate in the 2023–24 HSSLC Examinations for both Arts and Science streams, and its recent achievement of securing a place among the Top Ten institutions under the Meghalaya Board in the Arts stream—just four years after its launch.

A major highlight of the ceremony was the special felicitation of Mebalaaihun Mawiong, who secured the 8th Rank in the MBOSE HSSLC Examinations 2025. Her achievement was celebrated as a source of inspiration for the entire student body and a testament to the school’s commitment to academic excellence.

Addressing the gathering, Principal Dr. Seven Dar Dkhar extended heartfelt thanks to the faculty, parents, and community members for their unwavering support. He encouraged students to uphold the values, discipline, and spirit of learning they had cultivated during their time at Asorphi.

The ceremony concluded with vibrant cultural performances and emotional farewell moments, as students of the 2023–25 batch received words of encouragement and blessings for their future endeavors.
