Another body detected inside coal mine in East Jaiñtia Hills, body of Amir Hussain handed over to relatives

Shillong Jan 26: The Indian Navy has detected another body of a miner who have been trapped along with 24 others inside the coal mine at Khloo Ryngksan in East Jaiñtia Hills district.
While updating the rescue operation on Saturday, East Jaiñtia Hills district deputy commissioner, FM Dopth said, “as informed by the Indian Navy, another dead body was detected this morning at 3am at around 280 feet from the main shaft.”
Meanwhile, the body of Amir Hussain, the first trapped miner to have been detected by the Indian Navy divers inside the mine was handed over to his relatives.
The body of Hussain was spotted on January 16 by using their underwater remotely operated vehicle.
The mother and wife of Hussain came to Khliehriat CHC to identify and claim  his body.
Hussain was from Chirang district in Assam.

Atleast 15 miners were trapped inside the coal mine at Khloo Ryngksan since December 13 last year.

Rescue operation is going on By the NDRF, SDRF, Navy, Odisha fire services, Coal India Limited, Kirloskar and other agencies to trace other miners who are still missing.
