Shillong, March 4 : With the aim of informing, educating and communicating the people at the grass-roots levels about the various developmental schemes and programmes implemented by different departments, the Office of the Sub-Divisional Officer (C), Sohra Civil Sub Division organized an Awareness Cum Grievances Redressal Camp at Ichamati village under Shella Bholaganj C&RD Block on 3rd March, 2017.
The programme was inaugurated by Shri Ankit Kumar Singh, SDO (C), Sohra Civil Sub Division in the presence ofShri. Alexander Mukhim, BDO, Shella Bholaganj C& RD Block, Shri. Nipon Hajong, EAC, Sohra, village elders, teachers and people from Ichamati and surrounding villages.
Speaking at the inaugural function, Shri Singh said the camp was organized to sensitize and motivate the people for greater participation in the implementation of various developmental schemes and programmes of the government and also to provide a platform for the villagers to interact with officers of various departments. He also urged the villagers to make full use of this camp and ask questions to clear their doubts and misunderstandings.
To facilitate the villagers, help desks was set up by various departments which includes Election, Health, Agriculture, Social Welfare and State Bank of India. As part of the programme, a free medical check-up was also conducted.
