Shillong, Nov 16: Former Indian football team captain Bhaichung Bhutia on Saturday joined the air warriors here in Meghalaya as the Eastern Air Command celebrated its diamond jubilee.
Air Officer Commanding -in-Chief of Eastern Air Command, Air Marshal R.D. Mathur, welcomed Bhutia for the community lunch with the air warriors and families.
The footballer-turned politician joined the celebration thanked the Indian Air Force (IAF) for the services extended by the IAF during the natural calamities.
He further mentioned how the Subroto Mukherjee Football tournament organised by the IAF proved to be the stepping stone in his career in football.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation by air warriors and their families and furthered the camaraderie and bonhomie among all the ranks of IAF.
