Shillong, May 30: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is gearing up to contest the Lok Sabha polls from both Shillong and Tura in Meghalaya.
A.L. Hek who is the BJP MLA and Minister expressed confidence that the NDA government at the Centre would come back to power in 2019.
The BJP is part of the coalition MDA government being led by the NPP.
He told reporters that the party would contest in both the MP seats in the Lok Sabha elections to be held next year.â€
The Lok Sabha seat from Shillong is being held by Congress MP Vincent H Pala, while Chief Minister, Conrad K Sangma is the Lok Sabha MP from Tura seat.
However Hek said that if the BJP leadership at the Centre decides otherwise, the party would abide by its decision.
He also claimed that no other political party can replace the BJP at the Centre in 2019 as the BJP-led government at the Centre will continue for another term, and Narendra Modi will continue as Prime Minister.
Hek also said that the Congress with only 40 MPs would not be able to form the next government even with the support of other parties at the Centre.
