Shillong, Mar 9: The state unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday released its second list of candidates for the upcoming elections to the Garo Hills Autonomous District Council (GHADC), scheduled to be held on April 10.

According to party state general secretary Wankitbok Pohshna, the names approved by the State Election Committee include Alphonse Sangma from Gasuapara, George P. Sangma from Babelapara, Karmingstone N. Marak from Raksamgre and Miritha T. Sangma from Jengjal.

The announcement comes as political parties continue preparations for the GHADC polls, which will determine the composition of the council responsible for governing tribal areas in the Garo Hills region of Meghalaya.
