Shillong, Nov 28: The Meghalaya Tourism Department on Friday announced major additions to the star lineup of Me’gong Festival 2025, with British pop-R&B icons Blue and Grammy-nominated reggae star Julian Marley joining the list of headliners for the grand two-day event scheduled in Tura on December 5–6, 2025.
They will perform alongside previously confirmed global acts — pop-rock legend Richard Marx and world-renowned electronic duo Yellow Claw — making this year’s edition one of the most diverse lineups in the festival’s history.
The festival will also feature leading Bollywood performers Kanika Kapoor and Neeti Mohan, strengthening its contemporary Indian music representation. Along with international and national stars, Me’gong 2025 will spotlight local talent including Rough Road, Hoi Hoi Makbil, Haystack Ladies, G-Hills Finest, Crack Gang, and Ahaia, celebrating the unique music and culture of the Garo Hills.
Aligned with the vision of Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma, Me’gong continues to expand its role as a major cultural and tourism platform, promoting indigenous heritage while generating creative and economic opportunities. Last year’s edition saw a footfall of more than 3 lakh visitors, solidifying the Garo Hills as a growing cultural tourism hub.
Beyond performances, the festival will offer a fully immersive cultural landscape featuring Garo cuisine, traditional crafts, weaving and bamboo workshops, jewellery, and sustainability initiatives focused on zero-plastic operations and community-led waste management.
With an impressive blend of international icons, national stars, and homegrown artists, Me’gong Festival 2025 promises a powerful showcase of global music, indigenous identity, and community celebration — transforming Tura into a cultural hotspot this December.
