SHILLONG, FEB 3: The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) on Monday organised a virtual flag-off ceremony of the ‘Vande Mataram Coastal Cyclothon–2026’ at Shillong Airport as part of its nationwide outreach and awareness initiative.
The Cyclothon aims to promote national integration, physical fitness, environmental awareness, and public participation in security-related awareness campaigns across the country.
The ceremony was attended by senior CISF officers, CISF personnel, airport stakeholders, and representatives from various agencies. Speakers at the programme highlighted the importance of physical fitness, discipline, unity, and collective responsibility in nation-building, while encouraging public support for such initiatives.
Participants were briefed on the objectives of the Cyclothon and its extensive route, which will cover multiple coastal regions of India. The initiative reflects CISF’s commitment to community engagement and spreading the message of patriotism and social responsibility.
The event concluded with the virtual flag-off of the Cyclothon and a pledge by all participants to contribute towards a safer, cleaner, and stronger nation.
CISF reiterated its dedication to safeguarding critical infrastructure while fostering close coordination with the public through meaningful outreach programmes.
