New Delhi, October 30: The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) on 23rd of Oct this year. organized a solemn commemorative event at the National Police Memorial (NPM), Chanakyapuri, New Delhi, to honour its valiant personnel who made the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty.
During the ceremony, floral tributes were paid to 127 CISF martyrs, commemorating their courage, commitment, and devotion to duty. The families of the following five CISF Bravehearts were specially invited and felicitated:
HC/GD B. B. Manjhi (Odisha)
CT/GD Potupureddi Appanna (Andhra Pradesh)
ASI/Exe Rajendra Prasad (Rajasthan)
HC/GD Akhileshwar P. Yadav (Bihar)
HC/GD S. D. Patil (Maharashtra)

In the morning, Smt. Binita Thakur, ADG (APS), along with senior CISF officers and personnel, paid floral tributes at the Central Sculpture of the National Police Memorial. The families of the martyrs visited the Wall of Valour and the Police Museum, and were also shown a special CISF documentary highlighting the heroism and selfless service of their loved ones.
A felicitation ceremony followed, during which senior officers expressed deep gratitude to the families for their strength, sacrifice, and resilience in the face of loss.
In the afternoon, Shri Praveer Ranjan, Director General, CISF, presided over a commemorative function at CISF Headquarters, where he reaffirmed the Force’s unwavering commitment to duty, service, and sacrifice while honouring the families of the Bravehearts.
The day’s events culminated with an open-air film screening, a retreat ceremony, and a musical performance by the CISF Band. The programme was attended by senior officers, personnel, and around 200 families from Delhi–NCR-based CISF units, marking a day of remembrance, pride, and solidarity.
