CISF Undergoes First-Ever Intensive Combat Training with Elite Indian Army Units in Kashmir

Email :134

Kolkata | July 24, 2025: In a historic and strategic move, the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) has embarked on its first-ever intensive combat training with elite units of the Indian Army in Kashmir, marking a significant milestone in its efforts to enhance operational readiness and resilience in confronting evolving security challenges.

The specialised training is being conducted at Army training centres in North Kashmir, where selected CISF personnel are undergoing rigorous combat drills, endurance conditioning, and tactical response simulations under the supervision of Army instructors. The programme is aimed at strengthening the CISF’s capacity to deal with hybrid warfare, asymmetric threats, and high-intensity conflict scenarios—challenges that increasingly define modern security landscapes.

This collaboration is a key initiative under CISF’s renewed focus on force modernization and combat capability enhancement. The training modules include close-quarter battle, survival skills, ambush/counter-ambush tactics, and high-altitude warfare techniques.

Senior officials have highlighted that this initiative will not only improve inter-agency coordination between the CISF and the Indian Army but also act as a psychological deterrent to anti-national and disruptive elements, especially in critical and sensitive zones where the CISF is deployed.

The force has affirmed that this training initiative will be scaled and institutionalised in phases across other core units of CISF, thereby embedding a culture of high physical and mental preparedness throughout its ranks.

Photographs and video footage from the training sessions in Kashmir reflect the high morale, discipline, and determination of CISF jawans undergoing the joint drills with Army counterparts.

To ensure wide public awareness and regional outreach, all Area Security Groups (ASGs) under AP (E&NE) HQrs, Kolkata, are directed to:
