In a major milestone for Noida International Airport (NIA), the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) was formally inducted today as the designated aviation security agency at the upcoming airport in Jewar. The induction marks a crucial step in the airport’s journey toward operational readiness ahead of its commercial launch.
The induction ceremony was attended by senior officials from CISF and Noida International Airport, including Shri Praveer Ranjan, IPS, Special DG Airports, CISF; Shri Senthil Avoodai Krishna R, IPS, IG/Airport Sector, CISF; Shri Rakesh Kumar Singh, CEO, NIAL; Smt. Kiran Jain, COO, NIA; Shri Shailendra Bhatia, Nodal Officer, NIAL; and Shri Sanjay Kataria, Regional Director, RO Delhi.
With this induction, Noida International Airport becomes the 70th airport in India to be placed under CISF cover. The Aviation Security Group (ASG) and Airport Sector (APS) of CISF will be responsible for perimeter and access control, passenger and baggage screening, terminal and landside security, deployment of Quick Response Teams (QRTs), and coordination with local law enforcement agencies.

In the first phase, 1,047 CISF personnel will be deployed under the leadership of a Chief Aerodrome Security Officer (CASO), with deployment strength to be scaled up in line with passenger growth and flight operations.
Speaking on the occasion, Shri Praveer Ranjan, IPS, Special DG Airports, CISF, said:
“CISF is proud to take charge of aviation security at Noida International Airport. Our Aviation Security Group will implement globally benchmarked procedures and layered security measures to safeguard passengers, crew, and critical assets.”
Echoing this sentiment, Smt. Kiran Jain, COO, NIA, added:
“The induction of CISF is a key milestone in our preparedness journey. Security is central to our vision of offering safe, seamless, and world-class passenger experiences.”
With security formally handed over to CISF and preparations by major airline partners underway, Noida International Airport is on track to become a world-class aviation hub serving the National Capital Region and beyond.
