Shillong May 20: Meghalaya Chief Minister, Conrad K. Sangma attended the closing ceremony of the Combined Annual Training Camp of the 2nd BN NCC at U Soso Tham auditorium in the city.
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister motivated the young cadets to adhere to a disciplined life to achieve success.
Lauding the NCC for their immense contribution towards developing the youth to become worthy citizens of the nation, he said that the Government was committed to provide support for the proliferation of NCC in Meghalaya.
Talking at length about the immense potential of the youth in Meghalaya, Group Commander Brig. P.M Bali underlined the need for raising NCC battalions in Tura to cater to the Garo Hills region and one for Jaiñtia Hills.
The Chief Minister also handed over prizes to outstanding cadets for their achievements during the training camp.
Commissioner and Secretary (Education), W. Lyngdoh and Director Education (School Education and Literacy), Ambrose Marak were among the dignitaries present on the function.
