Shillong Mar 02: Chief Minister, Conrad K Sangma along with home minister, Lahkmen Rymbui, health minister, A.L. Hek and GAD minister, Comingone Ymbon visited people being treated at Shillong Civil Hospital who were injured in the violent incidents at Ichamati and in the city in the last few days.
He assured that state government would bear the expenditure involved in their treatment.
The Chief Minister said that necessary medical care was being administered to the injured and the condition of most of them is stable.
He also said that some of the victims required medical operations to be performed and once these procedures are completed, they should be out of danger.
The Chief Minister also said that all medical expenditure involved in the treatment of the victims will be borne by the government.
The Chief Minister also said that all precautionary measures are in place to bring the law and order situation under control and appealed to all stakeholders and individuals to refrain from any kind of violence so that peace and normalcy can return.
A number of people were injured in the attack at Ichamati and stabbing incidents in Shillong in the last few days.
One member of the KSU succumbed to injuries in the attack at Ichamati on February 28, and one trader was also stabbed to death at ïewduh on Saturday.
Another person was killed at Pyrkan village in Shella on Sunday.
Meanwhile, the chief minister has again appealed to different stakeholders and organizations not to take any kind of violent route and must ensure peace.
“Action against people responsible for this particular violence will be taken and action against those responsible for causing injuries to many people will be also taken. Therefore, there is no need for any kind of violence as government and police are very serious, and we are taking up the matters at a very serious level,†the Chief Minister added.
