CM says entry/exit point at Mendipathar Railway Station will complete within 6 months

Shillong, May 08: Meghalaya Chief Minister, Conrad K. Sangma on Wednesday inspected the Mendipathar Railway Station in North Garo Hills district for setting up an entry and exit point to check influx, and according to him, the check point should complete within six months.

Sports Minister, Banteidor Lyngdoh and other officials including Railway officials accompanied the Chief Minister.

During the visit, the Chief Minister also inquired about trading activities and agricultural produces as well as other materials being transported, and the benefits that farmers have derived after the railway line was introduced.

Sangma said that land has been identified for setting up of up the facilitation centre (entry/exit point) and the process of taking over the land has already started.

The Chief Minister instructed the Chief Engineer PWD (buildings) to ensure that works start at the earliest.

According to Sangma, he expected that the process to set up the entry/exit point will take three to six months.
