Cochin, Sept 12, 2025:
Cochin International Airport recently hosted a key CISF Operational Conference (Sept 11–12), bringing together top aviation security officers from across South India to reimagine airport security — with a stronger focus on passenger convenience.
The event was inaugurated by Shri Praveer Ranjan, IPS, Special Director General (APS), in the presence of Shri Jose Mohan, IPS, Inspector General, CISF. Security heads from major airports discussed solutions to make security checks smoother, improve inter-agency coordination, and balance safety with traveler comfort.
A major highlight was the showcase of cutting-edge technologies by Cochin Airport’s IT team, including AI-powered surveillance, advanced full-body scanners, intrusion detection systems, and cybersecurity upgrades. These innovations aim to cut down long queues, streamline screening, and enhance passenger experience without compromising safety.

Shri Ranjan emphasized the need for “dynamic and people-centric security,” stating that evolving threats must be met with equally adaptive systems that respect passenger comfort.
This conference is part of a series of regional workshops following a high-level national meeting in Delhi earlier this year. Similar sessions in Guwahati and now Cochin help gather on-ground feedback, shaping policies that lead to faster, simpler, and safer travel procedures nationwide.
The meet also marked the inauguration of new facilities for CISF personnel, underlining the organization’s commitment to staff welfare — a step that indirectly benefits passengers by ensuring motivated, alert security teams.
Bottom line for travelers: Expect to see faster, smarter, and more seamless security checks in the near future, as CISF and partner agencies continue upgrading systems to keep air travel safe, efficient, and stress-free.
