Shillong, Feb 22: The Confederation of Meghalaya Social Organization (CoMSO) on Saturday condemned the BJP legislator and minister, A L Hek for claiming that only thirty-thousand people are in favour of the Inner Line Permit (ILP) in the state and urged the people to send a text message ‘We demand ILP’ to the minister on his mobile number.

Terming Hek statement as misleading, CoMSO vice chairman, Lawyerson War said, “It seems that Hek is one of the few who is trying to mislead the Home Ministry in order to further delay the implementation of the ILP in our state.”

War said, everyone knew that the BJP minister won election because of the non-tribal vote bank.

The CoMSO also warned the Pynthorumkhrah legislator to refrain from making such baseless statements, which will only provoke the youth that may lead to unnecessary law and order problem.

“We also urge the people of the state to express their opposition against the minister by sending him a message ‘We demand ILP’ on his mobile number so that he will know how many people are in favour of the ILP,” War said.
