Congress declares 2nd list of candidates for elections to District Councils

Shillong Jan 14: The second list of Congress candidates contesting the upcoming elections to the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council and Jaiñtia Hills Autonomous District Council was declared on Monday.

The elections to both the Councils will be held on February 27, and the declaration of the second list came after 23 days of the release of the first list of candidates on December 22.

Declaring the list of candidates, Meghalaya PCC General Secretary, Waibha K. Kyndiah said that the list has been approved at the meeting of the Meghalaya Pradesh Election Committee.

Kyndiah said that the candidates from the remaining constituencies to the KHADC include Lamborsing Nongrum (Nongkrem), Olet Kharsahnoh (Mawkynrew), Ostiwel Lyngdoh Nonglait (Laban-Mawprem) and Bajop Pyngrope (Rambrai-Jyrngam).

Kyndiah said that the party candidates contesting from constituencies under JHADC include Jeweller Synrem (Nartiang-Umladang), Albinus Sympli (Mynsngat-Khanduli), Winning G.Sungoh (Mookaïaw), Bhalang Bang (Tuber), Philip James Bamon (Rymbai-Khliehriat), Hopingstone Bareh (Sutnga-Narwan), Michael Nongtdu (Sutnga-Nongkhlieh), Philip Tangliang (Sumer), Arbor Hima Darnei (Saipung), Desous Pohshna Narpuh) and Balios Swer (Bataw-Lakadong).
