Shillong, Jan 21: Meghalaya Chief Minister, Conrad K Sangma on Monday launched the CM’s Whatsapp based Public Grievance Redress Mechanism to enable people to express their grievances directly to the Chief Minister who will then take measures to resolve their problems.

The Chief Minister launched this at his chamber in the main Secretariat which coincided with the 47th Meghalaya Day celebration.

In his speech, Sangma said, “The idea to have this platform is to allow people to express their concerns and grievances directly to the chief minister’s office.”

Stating that this is not a complete resolving system, he said it is an access to the CM’s office, adding that a lot of problems are there at the grass-root level that are very easy to resolve but are not resolved because the public is not able to reach the right authorities.

He said a dedicated team would share the information received through the system with the concerned departments for taking up necessary actions to address the problems.

He said that his office would also take note of concerns received anonymously.
