Conrad meets Union Home Minister in New Delhi, meeting with state delegation on ILP issue after Delhi elections

Shillong Jan 30, 2020: Chief Minister, Conrad K Sangma on Thursday met Union Home Minister, Amit Shah and discussed numerous issues concerning Meghalaya and the North East.
In a video clip shared through the Chief Minister’s Office WhatsApp group, the Chief Minister said that he conveyed to the Union Home Minister regarding the resolution which passed by the state Assembly to implement the ILP on December 19.
“I informed him that a delegation from Meghalaya would like to meet him and I expressed the requirement and desire to implement ILP in the state. He was very positive and assured that he will meet the state delegation and he will be sending an official intimation to us right after the Delhi Assembly elections are over,” the Chief Minister said.
The Chief Minister said, secondly, he discussed the issues pending in the District Councils and updated the Union Home Minister the status of things in  Khasi, Jaiñtia and Garo Hills Autonomous District Councils and briefed him about issues concerning each District Council.
“We also discussed about the overall law and order situation in the State and different economic issues. We spoke about various projects we are taking up in a large scale including projects for the National Games,” Conrad said, adding that he also spoke about the law and order situation in the North East.
Conrad said that he also mentioned about the Social Justice Ministry’s project that is pending with the Union Cabinet for approval, and the Union Minister has assured to take up the matter with the Prime Minister.
