Jowai, Feb 7, 2026: A brief programme was organised on February 7, 2026, at the Parish House, Ummulong, for the handover of cooking utensils donated by Health & Family Welfare, Home (Passport), and Sports & Youth Affairs Minister Wailadmiki Shylla to the Sein Khynroo Khyllood Katholik Parish, Ummulong.
The programme, held at 10:00 am, was conducted by Cultural Secretary Shanmiki Khriam and began with an opening prayer led by Rev. Fr. Polycarpus Shylla, Parish Priest of Ummulong Parish. President Emidao War delivered the welcome address, followed by a welcome song presented by the youth of Balang Shnong Wahrymbai.
Rev. Fr. Polycarpus Shylla later addressed the gathering, after which the youth of Balang Shnong Ummulong performed a cultural dance. Advisor of the organisation, Aron Pohti, also spoke on the occasion.
Addressing the gathering, Minister Wailadmiki Shylla appreciated the enthusiasm and commitment of the youth and highlighted the importance of hard work, self-discipline, and positive engagement in building the Church and society. He strongly urged young people to stay away from drugs and other intoxicating substances, stating that such habits are detrimental to individuals, families, and society at large.
The minister then formally handed over the donated items, which included large cooking vessels, Syntex containers, filters, and other related utensils, for use by the Parish Youth Association.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by General Secretary Deiwipaia Shylla, who expressed gratitude to Shri Wailadmiki Shylla for his generosity and support, and thanked all those who attended the event.
The programme was attended by youth representatives from 17 Balang Shnong under Ummulong Parish, along with several elders.
