Jowai, July 28: The Composite Regional Centre for Skill Development, Rehabilitation & Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (CRCSRE-Shillong), in collaboration with the Department of Social Welfare and the District Administration of West Jaintia Hills District, organized a special distribution camp aimed at supporting Persons with Disabilities (Divyangjan).

The camp was graced by the Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister of Meghalaya as the Chief Guest and the Hon’ble MLA of the constituency as the Guest of Honour. The dignitaries were warmly welcomed by Dr. Ram Shakal Sahani, Director of CRCSRE-Shillong, and the Deputy Commissioner of West Jaintia Hills District.

As part of the programme, 27 aids and appliances were distributed to beneficiaries, enabling greater mobility and independence. Additionally, 23 Niramaya Health Insurance Cards were handed over to existing beneficiaries, while 15 new registrations were completed under the Niramaya Health Insurance Scheme.

The initiative reflects a continued commitment to fostering inclusion, promoting accessible healthcare, and empowering Persons with Disabilities across Meghalaya.
