CSWO condemns petrol bomb attack in MPSC builidng, police yet to arrest miscreats

Shillong, July 11: The CSWO strongly condemned the petrol bomb attack in the office of the MPSC Secretary on Tuesday, and demanded a thorough probe to unearth conspiracy behind the attack.

A statement issued by CSWO president, Agnes Kharshiing said that there is a need of  CCTVs be installed in each government office, so as to thwart such attempts.

“This will also help investigators to catch criminals involved in damaging public property and who try to intimidate officials,” the statement said.

Meanwhile police are yet to make any arrest in connection with the incident.

SP (City), S.A. Rynjah said that a special investigation team has been formed to thoroughly investigate the matter.

Stating that the incident was a pre-planned one, Rynjah said that police are checking CCTV footage besides some eyewitnesses in order to get clues of miscreants who threw the petrol bomb inside an office room of the MPSC Secretary, W.A.M. Booth at the MPSC building at Lachumiere on Tuesday morning.

Police said that two unknown persons were seen running down the stairs of the MPSC building after the incident.

Some materials in the office including chairs and a computer were damaged, and police have seized a CPU besides some documents from the office room.

Security has been deployed around the MPSC building at Lachumier here following the incident.
