Shillong,Apr. 26: Garo Hills in Meghalaya has yet again been hit by a cyclonic storm which struck the region on Tuesday, damaging many houses and properties.
The Anjumane UP Madrassa in the village of Maulakandi in West Garo Hills was yesterday hit by a cyclonic storm that took off parts of the roof in about 5 rooms of the school leading to students facing a trying time in continuing their education.
Yesterday, parts of Tikrikilla and Phulbari in West Garo Hills, was hit by an early morning cyclonic storm leading to a huge amount of houses being destroyed.

The school caters to a huge section of the local populace and has been an important structure for education for quite a while.
“More than 5 rooms are currently without a roof and classes during rains will become absolutely impossible. We hope the administration takes notice of the school and helps with repair work on an urgent basis. After all it’s a question of the education of children that is at stake,†said Social activist Ashraff Hoque
The school has a total school strength of about 110 students who are taught by a group of 6 teacher
