Shillong, July 17: Disbanded Achik National Volunteer Council-Breakaway (ANVC-B) has asked its leaders to put on black badges at the centre level monitoring committee to protest against alleged negligence of the state government.

A statement issued here on Tuesday by former ANVC.B organizing secretary Akimbri R Marak alleged the state government of making fun of the Agreed Text for Settlement.

“The historic settlement of the Garo organisations has become a subject of humiliation though it has been paged in Meghalaya’s achievement,” Marak said, while alleging the state government of delaying the implementation of the peace pact in the past four years.

He also said that the Agreement has not been implemented in true spirit and alleged that even officers of the state denied having any knowledge about the agreement.

“It is a shameful thing that former Chief Minister (Mukul Sangma) took all credit for the projects sanctioned through the state government as part of the agreement including the medical college, Child and maternity hospital in Tura, the Tura-Nongstoiñ road to name a few,” he said.

Marak further claimed that the creation of new districts and sub divisions are also part of the agreement but the people who signed the agreement were never made part of any of these achievements.

The statement also slammed the political leaders for taking all the credit besides attempting to create division among the cadres and leaders of the organization.

“The ANVC.B cadres were trained differently. Therefore none of the cadres surrendered to the government during its active years. ANVC.B cadres still stand together except those who were sent as moles. Further the delay, stronger we will be. The State has tried everything during the time of SK Jain and Mukesh Kumar Singh to scatter our cadres,” Marak stated.

He also alleged the former DGP of deleting names of the ANVC-B cadres from the verification list leading to very few ANVC-B members who were included in the final list.

“Our packages were given to UALA cadres. Those who associated with police got the packages before us. Most of the people to whom the packages were issued are not even cadres. The State deprived us of our privileges thinking that we would be weakened, scattered and rose against our leaders. But we were trained physically and mentally and the state should stop wasting time,” he said.

The statement also demanded production of the 365 cadres who received the ANVC-B packages.
