Shillong, Sept 23: The District Legal Service Authority, Shillong organized a cleaning drive around Secretariat Hills with special concentration in areas around Shillong Bar Association, Deputy Commissioner’s office and the District and Session Judge Court on Saturday.
The Cleaning drive was organised as part of their annual Swacch Bharat Abhiyan. A similar drive was also carried out last year.
Officials from MUDA, Shillong Municipal, East Khasi Hills district police, forest department, PWD, Fire and emergency service, Members of the Shillong Bar Association, staffs of the Deputy Commissioner’s office East Khasi Hills and lawyers took part actively in the drive.
District and Sessions judge, E. Kharumnuid, led the cleaning drive in the presence of CJM, Shillong, B. Khriam, East Khasi Hills Deputy Commissioner, Peter S. Dkhar, Superintendent of Police, Davis N.R. Marak besides judicial and executive magistrates.
Tree plantation within the DC office was also organized as part of the drive.
