Shillong, May 4: The Central Recruitment Board (CRB) of the Meghalaya Police has filed a first information report (FIR) against unknown persons who circulated fake advertisement in social media regarding the number of posts lying vacant in the department.
“An FIR has been filed by the member secretary of the Board for investigation and taking necessary action against unknown persons who circulated the fake advertisement,†Inspector General of Police (TAP)-cum-chairman (CRB) H. Nongpluh said on Friday.
Nongpluh said that the Central Recruitment Board of the Police department also clarified that no advertisement has been issued by the Board, adding that all advertisements/notices issued by the Central Recruitment Board will be available in the official website of Meghalaya Police.
The chairman also requested members of the public not to respond to such fake advertisements which are not available in the official website of Meghalaya Police – www.megpolice.gov.in
Two days back, the Meghalaya Public Service Commission (MPSC) has also filed an FIR in connection with the declaration of fake result for the posts in the veterinary and water resources departments.
The fake result was circulated in social media with regard to an interview conducted for the post of Junior Engineer Civil Gr I in Veterinary (CEW), Water Resource Department and PWD (R & B) in government offices under the Engineering wining conducted by the MPSC from April 5 to 26. The fake result contains the names of as many as 87 successful candidates.
