Shillong, May 14: A new Khasi feature film “ïewduh” named after the biggest and oldest traditional market in Shillong will be out soon as shooting of the film has been completed.

Directed by national award winning film director, Pradip Kurbah, the film would be first screened in film festivals before releasing it and showing in cinema halls in the state.

According to Kurbah, ïewduh is a character in itself and the film is all about everyday people with everyday stories and talks about the different kind of relationships in the market.

He also admitted that there has been lot of negativity about the market.

“We have ignored this (negativity) in the film,” he said, adding that film is also a small way to regain the lost glory of the biggest market.

The film was shot in 23 days at ïewduh. The team expressed its gratitude to the Syiem of Hima Mylliem for extending support besides shopkeepers in the market.
