Shillong, June 27: In another arson case, four people including three children sustained burn injuries when a petrol bomb was hurled at a ration shop here in the city.
The incident took place at Lad Shyiap on Sunday night, when two miscreants came in a motorcycle and lobbed a petrol bomb at the ration shop owned by one Shyam Singh.
As a result, four people identified as Amanda Kharmuti (21), S. Kharmuti (12), Yasin Kharmuti (5) and Bandana Kharmuti (14) sustained burn injuries.
East Khasi Hills SP, Davis N.R. Marak said that the victims have been admitted in hospital for treatment, and the ration shop has partially gutted.
Soon after the incident, police apprehended three people on suspicion after they were caught carrying petrol in bottles at Mawlai.
According to the SP, investigation is on to find out whether they involved in the incident.
