Shillong, Sept 4: The Garoland State Movement Committee (GSMC) has decided to demand from the Meghalaya Democratic Alliance government to table the Garoland State Bill in the upcoming Assembly session.

The decision was taken at the general council meeting of the Committee held recently.

In a statement issued here on Tuesday, GSMC chairman, Nikman Ch Marak said, “We have resolved that the committee will request the chief minister Conrad K Sangma to table the Garoland State Bill in the upcoming Assembly session.”

Marak said that the meeting also resolved to hold public rally and procession in the state capital in November to further pressurize the state government to consider the demand.
