Shillong, Nov 20: Complaints have been lodged by Garo Hills Autonomous District Council (GHADC) deputy chief executive member (Dy.CEM), W. Ch Marak against contractors who allegedly failed to start construction works even after withdrawing about 60 per cent of money of the sanctioned amount.
The complaint was filed with police in West Garo Hills district against Abdul Roshido of Namabilla village in Balachanda constituency who was allotted the work for constructing a guest house, Jenisha A Sangma of Rangakona under Rangsakona constituency who was allotted the work for constructing a footpath, and Aliza Begum of Bholarbhita in Shyamnagar constituency who got the work order to construct a community hall at Bholarbhita.
The trio got the contract works to implement the projects under special grant assistance of the Central government for the year 2015-2016.
The Deputy CEM alleged all the three contractors had withdrawn 60 per cent of the amount sanctioned for the projects but they failed to start the work.
