Shillong, Apr 16: Over 5105 people have registered with the state government through the 1070 and 108 helpline, officials said on Thursday.
Of these, 4172 people have picked up the call, they said.
This came after the state government has urged all citizens who have visited Bethany Hospital in Shillong and Nongpoh to register especially those who are primary and secondary contacts with the first COVID-19 victim.
The government said that registered people are being monitored for symptom through telephonic calls and all are requested to pick up the call and give correct information for effective follow up.
Meanwhile, the state will soon receive another 20,000 personal protection equipments (PPEs) and 20,000 N95 masks to fight the coronavirus pandemic.
The government also said the number of invasive ventilors can be increased to 72 (from present 52), if required. The state is having a total of 100 non-invasive ventilators.
At present, the state is equipped with only 29,084 PPEs, and 20,000 N95 masks.
