Shillong, Nov 15: Minister in-charge District Council Affairs James K. Sangma on Thursday discussed with representatives and officials of the Autonomous District Councils on the need to have a uniform rules for all the three District Councils in the state.

It was decided that a task force committee will be formed to push the matter forward.

“We are trying to facilitate amendment of rules of the district councils so that we have a uniform rules for all district councils in the state,” James said.

At present, the district councils have separate rules.

The CEM of JHADC Madonbai Rymbai and other members of the Councils attended the meeting.

The Meghalaya government has committed to speed up the process of setting up entry and exit point.
