Hammer against NGOs : Meghalaya Police

Tura, March 28: Registering Suo-Moto case against the Garo Hills Based NGOs Meghalaya police stands tough. The case has been registered for the violation  Meghalaya High Court order on March 23 to 24 from 5 am to 5 pm after calling ‘Non-cooperation movement in the entire Garo Hills region’, which affects normal public movement.

NGOs under the banner of Solidarity Committee headed by Nikman Ch Marak, Chairman of the Garo Hills State Demand Committee (GHSDC) the movement were called on 23 March and 24 March from 5 am to 5 pm supported by the various NGOs.

Citing the reason of inconvenience cause to the public during the bandh hours , and also leads the same to violation of the Meghalaya High Court Judgment and invites penal provisions of MMPO (Amendment) Act 2010. Said police.
