Shillong, Oct 4: The Meghalaya High Court has dismissed a PIL which sought quashing of an order for setting up of a new polytechnic in Garo Hills.
The order was passed by the division bench which comprised of Chief Justice, Ajay Kumar Mittal and Justice HS Thangkhiew on Friday, after the petitioner Tangbath M Sangma requested that he be allowed to withdraw the PIL.
In his petition, Sangma had sought setting aide of the approval order dated November 6, 2018 for setting up of new polytechnic from Kapasipara to Gasuapara and quashing of the short tender inviting tender dated November 22, 2018 and final work order allotted to R R Marak.
He has also questioned as to why direction should not be issued to the State respondent to reconsider the shifting of setting up the new polytechnic from Kapasipara to Gasuapara.
