Nongpoh, Ri-Bhoi | October 2, 2025 – The HID Foundation Shillong observed Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti on Thursday by organizing a cleaning drive and green environment campaign at its unit office in Nongpoh, Ri-Bhoi District. Staff members from the Nongpoh unit actively participated in the initiative.

The program was presided over by Shri Nicholas Buhphang, while Mr. Soniland Malai, Executive Coordinator, delivered the welcome address. Mrs. Jinysha D. Maiong, Chief Executive of HID Foundation Shillong, outlined the objectives of the campaign and emphasized the importance of maintaining clean and green surroundings to promote a healthy environment. She also highlighted the enduring significance of Mahatma Gandhi’s ideals in present times.

As part of the observance, Miss Ritalin Malai led the participants in reciting the Swachhta pledge, which was followed by a cleaning drive around the office premises and along National Highway 6 at Umrangksai, Nongpoh.
