Shillong, Jan 26: The High Court of Meghalaya celebrated the 77th Republic Day on Monday within its premises with patriotic fervour and cultural splendour.
The National Flag was hoisted by the Chief Justice of the High Court of Meghalaya, Justice Revati Prashant Mohite Dere, in the presence of Justice H. S. Thangkhiew, Justice W. Diengdoh, Justice Biswadeep Bhattacharjee, and officers and staff of the High Court.
Following the flag-hoisting ceremony, a cultural programme was held at the High Court Auditorium, showcasing the rich and diverse cultural heritage of Meghalaya. Artists from across the state presented traditional performances, including Shad Mastieh, Wangala Dance, and Shad Pliang, enthralling the audience.
The programme also featured a song performance by an advocate of the High Court of Meghalaya, along with a cultural presentation by the Khmieh Creative Society, adding vibrancy to the celebrations.
