Shillong, Aug 22: The Hynñiewtrep National Youth Front (HNYF) Shillong Region alleged KHADC executive member in-charge Trade, Antonio N War that he has claimed that the Council has no power to refuse issuing of trading license to non-tribal traders once they obtained a ‘No Objection Certificate’ from the headmen.

“We are shocked by the reply of the EM in-charge Trade that the KHADC has no power to refuse issuing of trading license to non-tribal traders once they get the NOC from the headmen,” HNYF-RC general secretary Fasstar Kharmujai told reporters on Wednesday.

The HNYF delegation went to meet War to demand for regular checking of trading license and closing down of business establishments own by non-tribal who did not posses trading license issued by the KHADC.

The HNYF also asked headmen not to issue NOC to non-tribal traders to operate businesses within their respective jurisdictions.
