Shillong, Mar 18: East Khasi Hills superintendent of police Claudia A Lyngwa has directed all hotels, guest houses and inns in the district to report within 24 hours of the arrival or departure of foreigners in their respective premises.
The SP issued this directive in exercise of the power conferred by the Government of India, Ministry of Home Affairs (Foreigners Division), New Delhi and in view of COVID-19 threat.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, Lyngwa has directed all Managers/Proprietors of Hotels, Guest Houses, and Inns in East Khasi Hills District who have not registered their user IDs for submission of Hotels, Guest Houses, and Inns’s Reports on on-line “C†Form (C-FRO) to report to the office of the SP-Cum-Foreigners Registration Officer, Shillong for registering of the same.
“Moreover, those who have registered also should submit the report online regularly within 24 hours of the arrival/departure of the foreigners in their respective premises,†she said.
All the owners/tenants of private houses/boarding houses/ hostels, Schools, Colleges, Universities, Churches, Mosques, Temples and Hospitals authorities are also directed to report to the office of the SP-Cum- Foreigners Registration Officer, East Khasi Hills, Shillong, if any foreigner stays/studies in their respective premise/institution.
“The above authorities should inform this office immediately about the visit/stay of foreigners. All the concerned authorities should be strictly comply to the above Order and violation of the above directives, stringent legal action will be taken as per the provisions of the Foreigners Act, 1946,†the SP said.
