HSPDP asks Congress leader to prove allegation

Shillong Jan 27: The Hill State People Democratic Party (HSPDP) has threatened to take legal action against a Congress leader for alleging that the HSPDP is being funded by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

“We would be compelled to take legal step against him if he fails to prove the allegation,” HSPDP media cell in-charge, Londoner Sohtun said in a statement issued here.

The HSPDP said that Meghalaya Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) working president James Lyngdoh had made a statement that the BJP is funding the HSPDP in the state.

Sohtun said that Lyngdoh should prove his allegations which are baseless and designed only to mislead the people of the state.

The HSPDP has been maintaining that it would not like to work with national political parties be it with the Congress or BJP.
