Shillong, May 14: The Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) will soon issue show cause notice to a food delivery company Swiggy for operating without a trading license.

The decision was taken after a complaint was submitted by a delegation of the Hynniewtrep Youth Council (HYC) before the KHADC executive member in-charge Trade Paul Lyngdoh on Monday.

After the meeting, HYC general secretary Roy Kupar Synrem alleged that the Swiggy company has been operating illegally within the jurisdiction of the Council.

“Moreover, there are our local people who are running similar businesses right from 2016,” he said while demanding that immediate closing down of the company.

He informed that Lyngdoh has assured the delegation that the Council would issue a showcause notice to the company for operating without obtaining the necessary trading license.
