Induction course on Para Legal Volunteers held

Shillong, March 28: A three-day Induction Training Program for the Para Legal Volunteers of East Khasi Hills District was organized by the Meghalaya State Legal Services Authority (MMLSA) at Shillong Law College Dhanketi. The training programme kicks start today.

The aim of the program is to provide the Para Legal Volunteers with the necessary skills and knowledge so as to enable to perform their duties for the benefit of the people with relate to  Legal Aid, Property Laws, Marriage Laws, Criminal Laws, Women and Children Laws.

Chief Justice of Meghalaya High Court, Dinesh Maheshwari grace the inaugural session as the Chief Guest. Others present in the occasion were Justice of Meghalaya High Court S.R.Sen,Ved Prakash Vaish, and other dignitaries as well.

In his address, Chief Justice of Meghalaya High Court, Dinesh Maheshwari urged Para Legal Volunteers to help people in settling unnecessary legal disputes. He hoped that after this three-day training programme the Para Legal Volunteers would execute their job efficiently and sincerely. He also lauded the initiative of Shillong law College for organizing this training programme.
